International Students

Welcome

International students have the same access to Student Health and Well-Being services as domestic students. As an international student, you pay student fees and are eligible for a variety of services.

Tuberculosis

When you enroll at MU, make an appointment to discuss tuberculosis (TB) screening. We will ask you relevant questions and determine the right TB screen.

Further testing may not be necessary if your country has a low risk of TB. Otherwise you will be required to complete a TB test.

You must fulfill all screening requirements. If you do not, a hold will be placed on your account. This will keep you registering for courses and obtaining your transcript.

Proof of immunization

MU requires proof of certain immunizations. Obtain copies of your immunization record in English before you leave your home country and bring them with you. You can also upload your immunization records using a secure upload process. Learn more about immunization requirements.

Communication

  • We recommend you write down your concerns and bring them with you to your appointment.
  • Please be prepared to share with the Student Health Center staff your medical history and all treatment you are currently receiving as well as any allergies you may have.
  • Translation services are available in the Student Health Center if you are not confident about your English. Alternatively, you can bring a translator with you. If at any point your provider’s instructions are not clear, ask them to explain or repeat.
  • If you’re unsure about your provider’s instruction, ask them to write them down. It’s perfectly natural to have questions.
