Student Health Insurance Plan

About Student Health Insurance

Mizzou offers a Student Health Insurance Plan for students that need or want their own health insurance coverage while at Mizzou.

Mizzou has partnered with insurance provider United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) for the 2026-27 academic year.

Who is Eligible?

  • Domestic undergraduate students enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per semester.
  • Domestic graduate students enrolled in at least 1 credit hour or exam.
  • Enrolled medical students attending classes or participating in an internship or other practical training program.
  • International (F-1/J-1) students enrolled in any number of credit hours (enrollment is mandatory and automatic).
    • F-1 and J-1 students on post-completion work authorization have the option to self-enroll.
  • International (J-1) scholars (plan meets federally-mandated minimum requirements).

How to Enroll

Eligible students can enroll in coverage for the fall semester on United Healthcare’s website. All students must enroll in the plan each semester unless noted otherwise.

  • International (F-1/J-1) students are automatically enrolled.
  • International (J-1) scholars should review insurance options on the ISSS website.
  • Domestic students (undergraduate and graduate) should self-enroll through the UHCSR website.
  • If you have a graduate assistantship with an insurance subsidy, you'll receive an email with a custom link to self-enroll once you have registered for classes. For questions please, email Karen Gruen.
